Well, today is my birthday.

I had contemplated going to see family for the weekend, but have since nixed that idea, and I’ll be staying in town.
No, I have no freaking idea what I’m doing yet in "celebration" as I’m not always big on birthdays since I’m getting old

So anyway.  What to do tonight.

I did get one of the coolest gifts ever from my friend Nick last night when I went for Tuesday night wings at Shooter McGees in Alexandria.  It’s this tote that will hold 6 bottles of wine plus other stuff from Sur La Table (high end cooking store)

I feel I should probably provide a disclaimer or warning that you may not want your kids to watch this version of Kermit.   But this had me crying from laughing so hard.

Why does it seem to be so damned difficult to find drama-free friends?  Or am I missing something to "friendship" that requires there to be drama?  Maybe I’m flawed or something.  (Okay, I’m sure I am, but I think you get my point.)

Although, I’m really starting to think that I’m just want too much out of friendships.  I guess I should just only expect more of the superficial stuff, and then be pleasantly surprised if there’s more?

So, tonight, I FINALLY got to see the Simpsons movie!   I absolutely loved it.  I must see it again as I’m sure there are some gems of things that I missed the first time around.  I really needed that time to just unwind and laugh considering how hectic/stressful work has been lately.

I also had an interesting afternoon, basically spent it hanging out in a police station all afternoon.  Man, it really brought back some feelings.  And I have to admit that now that I should no longer have the problems with my knee that I’d been having since the original injury, it does plant the idea/thought in my head of going back to police work.  Actually, one of the sgts in the station I was hanging out in was also trying to talk me into it.   I really don’t know though.  I miss it, but….there’s a lot to consider about jumping…again.  But I still have to consider that I miss it…a lot.
